Washington, D.C. – U.S. Conference of Mayors President Oklahoma City (OK) Mayor Mick Cornett today
issued the following statement in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of September 11, 2011:

“America’s mayors paid tribute to the victims of 9/11 15 years ago and continue to do so today. We
are reminded today of the unspeakable loss so many Americans and our nation as a whole
experienced that day and have felt ever since.”

“9/11 changed America forever. While it led our nation to strengthen its efforts to prevent terrorist
attacks, and much progress has been made, sadly we know that they can still occur in any of our
cities, and we must take this threat seriously in our cities and in our nation.”
