Mayor Karen Bass | Los Angeles
Homelessness Task Force Chair
About the Task Force
Cities across the country are facing a housing shortage and surging rates of homelessness. According to HUD, on any given night, more than half a million people sleep in shelters and unsheltered places not meant for human habitation, such as cars and encampments.
The Homelessness Task Force, Chaired by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, leads the Conference’s work related to housing, hunger, and homelessness, including the collaboration between federal and local partners on initiatives aimed at reducing homelessness and increasing access to safe and affordable housing.
