“American cities are strong; may they continue to be the driver for a stronger America.”

Washington, D.C.— This morning, the U.S. Conference of Mayors released a new video ahead of President Donald Trump’s address to a Joint Session of Congress that highlights the tremendous growth seen in America’s cities over the past few years and stresses the importance of sustained federal investment and a strong federal-local partnership. The video, featuring a host of bipartisan mayors from across the country, underscores how American prosperity is tied to the strength of cities, and it talks about the commitment needed to keep improving infrastructure, public safety and the quality of life in the nation’s cities.

America’s great story has begun a new chapter. In this moment of change, we remain focused and motivated by our mission: to create more opportunity and better lives for the people we serve,” said USCM President Columbus (OH) Mayor Andrew Ginther, USCM Vice President Oklahoma City (OK) Mayor David Holt and USCM Second Vice President San Diego (CA) Mayor Todd Gloria. “As mayors, we keep looking forward and focus on getting the job done…The great news is American cities have never been stronger. This progress is no accident. It’s the product of hard work, investment, and a strong local-federal partnership.
