President Biden to Welcome Mayors to White House
Washington, D.C. – Starting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) will host its 91st Winter Meeting in Washington, DC, bringing together hundreds of bipartisan mayors from across the country. On the final day of the Meeting, Friday, January 20, President Joe Biden will welcome the nation’s mayors to the White House.
Presided over by USCM President Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez, the four-day Meeting will feature local and federal leaders discussing solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing America’s cities, including public safety, immigration, affordable housing, mental health and creating jobs. Mayors will also focus on the implementation of the historic legislative achievements of the past 18 months, including the American Rescue Plan, the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the SAFER Communities Act. The Meeting will be held from January 17 through January 20 at the Capital Hilton.
The mayors will hold a press conference on Wednesday, January 18, at 11:45 a.m. ET, where they will discuss the state of the nation’s cities and their priorities.
For planning purposes, here’s a draft agenda and list of registered mayors. Members of the media are encouraged to register in advance here. All business/day-time sessions are open to the press unless otherwise indicated, and all evening events are closed to the press. On-site registration will be available with current press credentials.
