Washington, DC – As American cities continue to confront serious housing and homelessness challenges, mayors are calling on Congress to act. The U.S. Conference of Mayors will host a virtual press call on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00AM ET to discuss important housing provisions authored by Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA, 43rd District), Chair of the House Financial Services Committee, that are a part of President Biden’s Build Back Better plan and to explain the importance of prioritizing those resources in upcoming negotiations on a final bill. Representative Waters will join USCM President Dayton (OH) Mayor Nan Whaley, Los Angeles (CA) Mayor Eric Garcetti and Columbia (SC) Mayor Steve Benjamin for the discussion. Those wishing to attend should RSVP to Sara Durr at sdurr@usmayors.org to receive a link to the event.
