Program marks a nationwide initiative to help drive economic development and investment in cities through new sports venue projects
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and Amrize (NYSE:AMRZ) announced a partnership in establishing USCM’s Game Changer Program, a new national initiative designed to equip civic leaders with the tools, insights, and partnerships to drive transformational development and investment in their cities through new sports venue building projects.
The Game Changer Program brings together mayors, industry leaders, and policy experts to advance innovative approaches to economic growth, infrastructure and community-centered development, strengthening citiesʼ ability to compete, attract investment, and deliver long-term value for residents.
The inaugural cohort of mayors will be:
- Bridgeport (CT) Mayor Joseph Ganim
- Cedar Park (TX) Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin
- Chester (PA) Mayor Stefan Roots
- Dothan (AL) Mayor Mark Saliba
- Long Beach (CA) Mayor Rex Richardson
- Youngstown (OH) Mayor Derrick McDowell
As a founding partner, Amrize will work closely with USCM and its Business Council to support programs and practical solutions that help mayors attract new sports teams and navigate the key steps to ensure successful development of venues that contribute to economic growth for their cities.
“This partnership with Amrize is critically important to the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the cities represented by our mayors, and our Business Council,” said Tom Cochran, CEO and Executive Director of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. “Amrize brings deep industry expertise, national scale and a strong commitment to cities.
