It’s that time of the year. We’re calling for all civic tech startups to apply today for a chance to join us when host our 3rd Mayors Civic Tech Pitch competition on Sunday, June 10 in Boston. The finalists round, live in Boston, will feature five startups who will pitch their idea to a panel of judges who can ask questions about their ideas. Last year’s winner was The Burg, an app that serves as a digital public square that is prototyping in Los Angeles. At our pitch in Austin, last March at Civic I/O, BioBot Analytics won for their work to identify opioid usage using water and wastewater sources.
There is prize money on the line. First place will receive $10,000 and an invitation to attend the Civic I/O Mayors Summit at South by Southwest in March of 2019. Second place will receive $5,000 and the other finalists will receive $1,000 for attending and pitching.
Entries are due on Thursday, May 31. Finalists will be notified by Tuesday, June 5.
