On March 28th, the U.S. Conference of Mayors hosted a trilateral summit with mayors and local officials from the United States, Mexico, and Canada in Washington D.C. At the conclusion of the summit, a multiparty group of mayors issued a joint statement in support of North American trade, promoting the value of fair trade for their communities and warning of the high cost tariffs impose on families, businesses, and local communities.

In response to President Donald Trump’s new sweeping tariffs on imported goods from dozens of countries, America’s mayors voiced their concern about the economic impact such tariffs will have on local communities.
