About the Task Force

Mayors participate in the Veterans Affairs Task Force to help focus attention on issues related to veterans in their communities. Mayors are advocates for working with different levels of government and the private sector to improve services available to veterans. They also focus attention on the need to increase federal resources available to address the various needs of veterans, which include both physical and mental health care, homeless assistance, housing, entrepreneurship assistance, education, and employment and training assistance. Mayors also support streamlining and simplifying the delivery of all veterans-related services to make it easier for them to get the assistance they need.
