The Sustainable Cities Fund provides financial support, technical assistance, and guidance to empower cities, communities, and program partners to tackle their toughest challenges.
What makes us unique is our focus on place-based programs and projects. We help our grantees lower energy costs, cut pollution, and create new economic opportunities for their communities through climate and clean energy solutions.
The Fund operates as a strategic regrantor, which means we connect donors to work that supports cities, local partners, and other subnational groups to ensure the greatest impact.
Our team is composed of experts in policy, government, community organizing, finance, law, data analysis, project management, communications, and more. We build strong relationships on the ground, remain flexible, and learn as we go.
We draw on these experiences and deep relationships to help our grantees navigate complex networks of funding and secure the resources they need to achieve their goals.
The Fund was established in 2023. It is a project of the New Venture Fund and is supported by philanthropic partners.
