The United States Conference of Mayors invites your city to participate in the 2019 Mayors National Youth Summit in Los Angeles, from July 25 to 27 2019. The Summit will be co-hosted by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and the Conference of Mayors’ Youth Involvement Task Force, Chaired by Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis.
The Mayors Youth Summit will serve as an invaluable opportunity for young leaders from across the country to directly engage and collaborate with our nation’s mayors and to actively address some of the most important issues facing young people today.
During the Youth Summit, mayors and young leaders will share ideas and insights surrounding efforts to embolden young people and include them in community decision-making processes. Youth and mayors will also work together to design a community action campaign, focused on youth civic engagement, that can be implemented when they return to their cities.
How to Get Involved
Each attending mayor is expected to select 2 Youth Leaders, at their own discretion, to accompany them to the Youth Summit. It is recommended that participating mayors select young people, between the ages of 16 and 22, from their City’s Youth Council or Youth Advisory Board where applicable.
Youth Leaders under 18 must have a chaperone accompany them to the Summit, and submit a signed waiver from a parent or guardian before attending the Summit. Mayors and youth should register separately for the Summit, though all participants must register by Friday, July 12th.

Accommodations for Youth
Hotel
The U.S. Conference of Mayors will provide free hotel accommodations, on a limited basis, for Youth Leaders traveling from outside of Los Angeles County.
Airfare
The Conference of Mayors is able to provide free domestic airfare vouchers to Youth Leaders attending the Conference from outside the State of California. Flight vouchers are available on a limited basis. Youth chaperones will not be eligible for a free flight voucher. However, the Conference of Mayors team is available to assist in coordinating air travel.
