USCM Commends Arlington Mayor Jim Ross for Convening Mayors for Leadership Discussion at National Medal of Honor Museum

ARLINGTON, Texas – Last week, 18 bipartisan mayors from across the country gathered at the National Medal of Honor Museum’s Griffin Institute for a special mayors-only session titled “Leading in the Moment: Applying the Medal of Honor Values to Work and Life.” The two-day convening, hosted by the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM), featured facilitated discussions, shared reflections and engagement with Medal of Honor recipients on how today’s local leadership challenges can be reconciled through practical applications of Medal of Honor values.

Following the gathering, which was spearheaded by Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, who serves as a USCM Trustee, USCM President David Holt, Mayor of Oklahoma City, released the following statement:

“At a time when local leaders are on the front lines of addressing some of our nation’s most pressing challenges, opportunities like this are critical for sharing ideas and strengthening leadership. I commend Mayor Ross for his vision in helping shape this important convening with the National Medal of Honor Museum’s Griffin Institute. By bringing leaders together to explore how the values of courage, commitment and service show up in real-world challenges, Mayor Ross is helping advance thoughtful, values-driven leadership in cities nationwide.”
