WEDNESDAY: Nation’s Mayors Kick Off 90th Winter Meeting

Mayors Participate in Sessions on Metro Economies; Implementing ARPA Funds; Reducing Gun Violence; Reducing Homelessness; Immigration Issues and More

USCM President Francis Suarez, Additional Mayors to Hold Press Conference at 11:45AM

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) will kick off their 90th Annual Winter Meeting at the Capital Hilton. Mayors will hear from Congressional leaders, Biden Administration officials, foreign Ambassadors and other experts to discuss the best ways to achieve the goals of America’s cities in 2022.

Additionally, on Wednesday at 11:45AM, USCM President and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez will hold a press conference welcoming guests to the meeting and discussing cities’ efforts to rebuild and recover from the pandemic. Additional speakers include Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot; Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer; Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas; and Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz.

All business/day-time sessions are open to the press unless otherwise indicated, and all evening events are closed to the press. All plenary sessions will be livestreamed on USCM’s YouTube, Twitter and Facebook channels. On-site registration will be available with current press credentials.

NOTE:

All attendees must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination. Antigen testing will be provided on site and a negative test will be required to obtain credentials. N-95 or KN-95 masks will be required and provided for those who may need one.

Media is advised to pre-register and complete the online proof of vaccination requirement. Media is also advised to arrive at the Capital Hilton with sufficient time to allow for the on-site testing process.
