Washington, D.C.— On Thursday, August 13th, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) will hold a media conference call at 10:00 am ET to outline real, workable, sustainable recommendations for reforming policing, as detailed by the Conference’s Working Group on Police Reform and Racial Justice. Launched in the wake of the George Floyd killing and amidst calls from communities to address policing and systemic racism in cities, in June the Working Group released principles that would guide its reform recommendations.

The call will give an overview of the report’s recommendations, including those related to redefining the role of local police, equality and due process, and sanctity of life.
