Immigration, Trade, Affordable Housing, Census, Jobs, Climate Top Agenda

June 28 – July 1, 2019

Washington, D.C. – For the first time since 1963, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) will hold its Annual Meeting in Honolulu (HI).  Under the leadership of USCM President Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and host Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell, more than 200 mayors from across the country will come together to discuss a wide variety of priorities that contribute to the overall health of America’s cities. They will also consider and adopt policy resolutions that guide the advocacy agenda of the organization. The Meeting, which will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, will run through Monday, July 1, 2019.

An opening press conference is scheduled for Friday, June 28 at 11:30 am HST.

With more than 85 percent of Americans living in U.S. metropolitan areas, mayors are on the front lines of today’s challenges and have consistently called on Washington to draw on mayoral expertise. During the Meeting, mayors from both sides of the aisle, from cities rural, urban and suburban, will hold sessions on a range of issues, including immigration, trade, affordable housing, the 2020 Census, climate, school safety and the economic future of cities.

A draft agenda and list of pre-registered mayors are available here. Members of the media are encouraged to register in advance.  All business/day-time sessions are open to the press unless otherwise indicated.  All evening events are closed to the press. On-site registration will be available with current press credentials.

All plenary sessions will be livestreamed here.
