Washington, DC – In the face of uncertain and vacillating support from the federal government, mayors across the country continue to be on the frontlines finding innovative solutions to the toughest issues facing American cities today. On Wednesday, April 18, a bipartisan group of mayors will participate in the Urban Transformation Forum hosted by the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM), the NYU Wagner Graduate School for Public Service and the David Bohnett Foundation. They will discuss how they are changing their respective cities by bringing forth bold and inventive ideas that tackle issues such as immigration, the opioid crisis, automation and other challenges.
The event is free and open to the public. Speakers include Mayor John Giles (Mesa, AZ); Mayor Nan Whaley (Dayton, OH); Mayor Pete Buttigieg (South Bend, IN); and Mayor Toni Harp (New Haven, CT). The moderator will be Eleanor Randolph, New York Times Contributing Writer and Fellow at the Leon Levy Center for Biography, The Graduate Center, CUNY.
