Introduction
Over the last few years, The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the Annie E. Casey Foundation established the Partnership for Working Families to draw national attention to and support for the challenges facing working families in America today.
The Partnership for Working Families is designed to support the work of the Mayors Task Force on Poverty, Work and Opportunity to significantly increase the visibility of issues related to poverty and the needs of working families. Through the Task Force, USCM has assumed a national leadership position in calling attention to the problem and pressing for solutions, both at the local and the federal level.
In addition, The Partnership for Working Families continues to promote the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Campaign in cities to further promote Annie E. Casey’s Family Economic Success agenda. Through the collaboration over the past few years the number of cities that are promoting the Family Economic Success agenda has grown significantly to recognize the need to assist and support working families.
