Conference President Douglas H. Palmer and Executive Director Tom Cochran met with House Speaker-Elect Nancy Pelosi (CA) on Capitol Hill December 14 to discuss shared priorities for the 110th Congress.  Palmer told the Speaker-elect that the nation’s mayor look forward to working with her and the new House leadership on many key issues of importance to cities and the nation including homeland security, energy independence, increasing the minimum wage, and others.

The Speaker-Elect committed to working with the Conference leadership in the first days of the 110th Congress, and has been invited to participate in the Conference’s 75th Winter Meeting during January 24-26, 2007.
