San Diego played host to more than 75 senior solid waste, public works and recycling professionals for the 2008 Fall Summit. Attendees had the opportunity to learn with and from each other, exchange best practices and explore both everyday and long term challenges. In addition to touring Petco Park and exploring its' innovative recycling program, session gave a broad overview of topics important to solid waste and public works departments, including new technologies, "greening of cities", trends and challenges in solid waste management, international perspectives and best practices of solid waste and recycling and integrated waste management solutions.
