Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino launches tobacco-free hospital initiative during the 36th Annual Great American Smokeout. The initiative is a partnership between the Boston Public Health Department and ten Boston hospitals to decrease tobacco use and exposure on hospital campuses. The American Cancer Society’s 36th annual Great American Smokeout, a day set aside to encourage smokers to make a plan to quit smoking for good and to remind non'smokers not to start.
