About the Mayor
November 7, 2011
Akron Mayor Donald L. Plusquellic, a Conference of Mayors Past President, hosted U.S. General Services Administrator Martha Johnson on October 14 for a discussion on the American Jobs Act and how it can help Northeast Ohio businesses grow and add jobs. The roundtable, held with local businesses at the Akron Global Business Accelerator, also focused on goods and services purchased by the federal government through the GSA.
“There are a lot of people and small businesses hurting right now,” said Mayor Plusquellic. “I hope that the lawmakers will be able to put aside their differences and work together on a plan that gives a much needed boost to small businesses and that addresses the needs of the unemployed workers. Our citizens need to go back to work, and the sooner the better.”
The Akron Global Business Accelerator provides a wide variety of technical, administrative, marketing and professional services that a small business may not be able to secure or afford.
