October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Mayors across the country are proclaiming October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), promoted by The United States Conference of Mayors for the past fifteen years.
NBCAM is an activity of the Mayors’ Campaign Against Breast Cancer, a public health initiative, which over 260 mayors conduct at the local level. Their focus is upon early detection of breast cancer through mammography, particularly for underserved women.
The Conference of Mayors sent packets of NBCAM promotional materials to all the mayors in August. If you would like further information about activities and materials for NBCAM or the Mayors’ Campaign Against Breast Cancer, please contact Crystal Swann, Assistant Executive Director, who may be reached by phone at 202-293-7330 or send e-mail to cswann@usmayors.org.
