Alameda (CA) Mayor Ralph Appezzato passed away Sept. 16. Mayor Appezzato was first elected November 8, 1994, and was nearing the completion of his second term.
A graduate of Seton Hall University and Villanova, the mayor served a career as a Marine Corps officer retiring as a Colonel in 1983. After The Marine Corps, the mayor was a vice president of The Bank ofAmerica for seven years and Chief Operating Officer at Volunteers of America for four years.
Active in many Bay Area civic activities, the mayor is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and three sons, David, Jason, and Joshua.
