Conference of Mayors Membership Passes Amendment to Change Conference Constitution

The U. S. Conference of Mayors has approved the following Constitutional Amendment: "When a Mayor who was previously a Trustee or member of the Advisory Board leaves office and subsequently returns to office, she/he shall be reinstated to her/his prior position. Such reinstatement shall be in addition to the thirteen Trustees or twenty'seven Advisory Board members and such position shall be eliminated when the Mayor leaves that position".
This amendment was approved by more than two-thirds of the membership as required by the Constitution. As a result, the following mayors have returned to serve in the Conference leadership:
Trustee Dekalb (IL) Mayor Greg Sparrow
Advisory Board Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez and Beaumont (TX) Mayor Evelyn Lord.
