Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch secured the Democratic nomination for a second term on September 27, winning 59 percent of the vote against his opponent. Commenting on the win, Finch said, “We stayed above the negativity, and the people said this positive vision is the way that Bridgeport should go.”  In a city in which Republicans are outnumbered by 10-1, Finch is predicted to win the general election on November 8.
