Hexagram, Inc., a subsidiary of ESCO Technologies (NYSE:ESE), became a Platinum Partner with The U.S. Conference of Mayors at the organization’s recent leadership meeting in Trenton, NJ. Conference President Trenton Mayor Douglas H. Palmer hosted the two-day strategy session that was attended by 38 mayors who serve in the Conference’s leadership.
“We are excited to be a Platinum Partner with The U.S. Conference of Mayors,” said Gary Moore, president of Hexagram. “We look forward to this opportunity to work more closely with the Conference to help mayors promote their green initiatives.”
Hexagram believes its expertise in utility data collection and management will appreciably benefit individual cities’ efforts to implement point nine on The U.S. conference of Mayors’ New Agenda for Metropolitan America – modernizing infrastructure while protecting the environment for the future.
“As the only supplier of solar-powered fixed networks in the market we can significantly help cities meet clean energy requirements,” said Ike Moss, vice-president of municipal sales for Hexagram. “We also believe our leadership in implementation of leak detection technologies over fixed networks will both improve the bottom lines of many cities and significantly contribute to water conservation efforts.”
Hexagram, Inc.’s STAR® Network AMI/AMR system delivers next-generation metering intelligence to utilities throughout North America. Whether a utility is adding more data collection and transmission hardware, or leveraging innovative software applications to meet present and future data requirements, Hexagram’s fixed communications network expands easily and cost effectively to match evolving needs.
Advantages of Hexagram’s fixed network for urban applications include redundant data-collection methods, multiple data-collection options, accuracy, and reliability. The Hexagram system, with easy to install meter modules and long-term battery life, offers cities quick return on investment and lower overall long-term costs.
Hexagram is a member of ESCO Technologies’ Communications Segment, which also includes DCSI and Nexus Energy Software. ESCO’s Communications Segment provides an industry-leading suite of innovative fixed-network and meter-data-management solutions for municipal and investor-owned utilities.
Hexagram’s meter transmitters and data collection units are designed to offer maximum flexibility to cities in terms of infrastructure configuration. Hexagram radio- frequency-operated meter transmitters are based on a universal platform that provides two-way operation at the meter and offers tamper, outage, and low-battery notification. Data collectors are easily placed on municipal buildings and utility infrastructure for greatest data-collection efficiency. Collectors provide wireless data transfer to utilities via a number of technologies including fiber-optics, cellular signal, or Wi-Fi, and are upgraded easily. In addition, Hexagram’s software offers sophisticated consumption, management, and diagnostic reports to aid in AMR system management.
