- Red Cross opened 249 shelters that housed more than 86,000 people.
- Red Cross continues to respond to Hurricane Charley which so far has served more than 3 million meals and at its peak, opened more than 250 shelters housing in excess of 100,000 people, and served some 250,000 meals a day.

- FEMA, its federal, state, volunteer and private sector partners are responding to many urgent needs in the aftermath of the hurricanes with over 379 shelters open in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina, housing over 96,000 evacuees.
- A total of 2,748 FEMA staff and personnel from other federal and voluntary agencies are working on the federal response and recovery efforts for Hurricanes Charley and Frances.
