It didn't take long for George A Cloutier, President and CEO of American Management Services and Chairman of PartnerAmerica to take action to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. After seeing on TV the damage and heartbreak Katrina brought to the Gulf area, he immediately sent out an e-mail to all his employees saying, "Our neighbors in Louisiana and Mississippi have lost everything. Now it's our turn to help."
American Management Services, Inc., based in Orlando (FL), has established a Hurricane Relief Fund to provide financial aid to families who fell victim to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Each employee contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar by American Management Services, up to $100,000. "We have seen the absolute devastation brought to the Gulf by Hurricane Katrina," said Cloutier. "Our employees wanted to do something to help, and if we're able to make even a small impact in those families- lives, our efforts are more than worth it."
"We at American Management Services will lead by example with both our commitment in time and money to our fellow citizens. It is a responsibility to our small businesses in America we must honor," said Cloutier. Further, he noted "we will redouble our efforts on behalf of small business working with the Mayors and the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide technical assistance and help to the over 90,000 small businesses affected by Katrina. It will again be the small businesses that will provide the economic engine to get the Gulf Coast region moving again."
