Ohio Mayor '04 Jobs Tour - August 12-13

Conference President Don Plusquellic will leave Chicago and lead a statewide Ohio Mayors '04 Jobs tour via bus, along with - Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin, Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell, Cincinnati Mayor Charles Luken and Toledo Mayor Jack Ford where we will release our Ohio Metro Economies and Job Growth report. This is one of a series of economic reports we have released over the past five years. While Ohio metro economies all show a job loss and economic reports show Ohio as the state ranking 50th in job growth over the past four years, Akron Mayor Plusquellic and the Ohio mayors as well as Mayors throughout the Nation are advocating and urging both Democratic and Republican Parties to accept our Mayor's '04 Metro Agenda as their response to speed the economic recovery for the metro economies of America.

Scheduled throughout Ohio are Editorial Board Meetings with all Ohio major dailies as well as press events for the print and electronic media. Press events will show what mayors and the business communities are doing together to meet the jobs crisis of the metro economies, which drive Ohio's economy.

The Ohio state-wide event is one of many the U.S. Conference of Mayors sponsored events as we go forward to bring both Presidential candidates leading up to the election on November 2 to focus on initiatives that strengthen our metro-economies across the nation.

The USCM Fall Leadership Meeting is set for Akron, Ohio - October 7-9. Conference President Plusquellic has invited President Bush and Senator Kerry to meet with the mayors as we continue to advocate a discussion of our Mayors '04 Metro Agenda priorities during the Presidential campaign.
