RMLO has worked with the other coalition members, as well as organizations such as The U.S. Conference of Mayors, in planning a number of activities. Conference President Boise Mayor H. Brent Coles will attend and be an active participant in Convention activities.

Sunday, July 30: Local and State Opening Event

On Sunday evening, July 31, there will be a State and Local Opening Gala to welcome officials to the Philadelphia convention. The location of the Sunday evening event has been moved to the Loews Hotel, Millennium Hall from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The hotel is located at 1200 Market Street (215-627-1200).

On Tuesday, August 1, there will be a Mayors-Only Late Night Dinner hosted by RMLO and its President Mayor Hal Daub of Omaha, The U.S. Conference of Mayors and its President Boise Mayor H. Brent Coles, and the National League of Cities and its President Wichita Mayor Bob Knight. The dinner will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott from 9:00pm to 1:00am. The Convention

In terms of the convention itself, the coalition will have space in the Pavilion Area between the First Union Center and the Philadelphia Spectrum. The Pavilion Area will provide an opportunity for the coalition, other alliances and organizations to socialize in an open forum. The coalition will also have two sky suites in the First Union Center every night of the convention.

Convention sessions will be held on Monday morning, and from 7:00 to 11:00pm on Monday through Thursday evenings.
