USCM Defining Moments Videos Premier in LA

Twelve short videos highlighting historical moments in the Conference’s history were shown throughout the Los Angeles Annual Meeting.
Entitled “Defining Moments”, the twelve videos showed the role that The United States Conference of Mayors played during some of our nation’s most critical times. The twelve “defining moments” were:
- Born in Detroit — 1932
- Civil Rights — 1963
- HUD Cabinet Post — 1965
- Vietnam War — 1971
- Legislative Action Committee — 1972
- New York Financial Crisis — 1976
- Women’s Rights — 1977
- AIDS Epidemic — 1984
- Crime Bill — 1994
- 9/11 — 2001
- International Partnerships — 2005
- Mayors’ Climate Protection — 2007
Each of the four minute videos showed highlight the leadership that the Conference played in addressing challenges that the nation faced. The videos were narrated by Conference of Mayors Executive Director Tom Cochran
