As U.S.MAYOR went to print, it was learned that former Lynn (MA) Mayor Patrick J. McManus had died at his home of an apparent heart attack (not confirmed).

“I am shocked. Shocked, shocked, and terribly saddened. He was a great mayor a great guy, a great person,” said Lynn Mayor Edward J. Clancy Jr.

McManus, 54, served as the mayor of Lynn from 1992 to 2001, and was currently running for mayor again. He was a strong member of the Conference of Mayors, serving as a Trustee and Co-Chair of the Mayors Water Council.
