Orlando Mayor Dyer Ready to Welcome Mayors 2012 Conference

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invited the nation’s mayors to Orlando where he will host the Conference of Mayors in June 2012.

“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to welcome each of you to Orlando.

I’m even more excited to welcome your families along with you,” said Dyer. “You might have recently seen that Orlando topped the 50 million visitor mark in 2010; a record-breaking total that gives us the distinction of being the most visited city in America.”

“Why do people come to Orlando from all over the world in these numbers?

There’s no doubt they love our world class theme parks and attractions, the sunshine and outdoor activities, the shopping and so much more,” said Dyer. “But, there’s a powerful, underlying reason why people choose to visit Orlando more than anywhere else. People come to Orlando to make memories with their families that will last a lifetime.”

“Mayors, I want to personally invite you and your families to visit Orlando to make those memories,” said Dyer.

“Now, as thrilled as I am for you to experience the hospitality side of our city, I am equally excited for you to get to see the ‘other’ side of Orlando,” said Dyer. “Just beyond our attractions, you’re going to find a city that has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few decades into a modern, metropolitan American city. Orlando has gone from a sleepy tourist town to a bustling, vibrant and dynamic city in less than half a century.”

“We’ll see everyone next year in Orlando!” said Dyer.
