In her June 14 address, National League of Cities (NLC) President Northglenn (CO) Mayor Kathleen Novak said that the NLC "stands in solidarity with the Conference of Mayors" and has contacted the White House directly to express their dismay regarding the Providence boycott.

Novak also said that Washington must focus on both short-term and long-term priorities such as economic recovery act implementation, transportation, health-care reform, and funding for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.
