Cheongju City, Korea, Mayor Soo Brings Greetings from the National Association of Korean Mayors

At the City Livability Luncheon June 11, Cheongju City, Korea, Mayor Han Dae Soo brought greetings to the 73rd Annual Conference of Mayors from the National Association of Korean Mayors.

Han stressed the growing importance of the contribution of local governments to world peace and welfare and praised the Conference of Mayors for playing "a pioneering role in the center of global exchanges."

He expressed the hope that U.S. and Korean mayors will continue to work together realize a "collaborative global society that surpasses any walls between races, religions, politics, and ideologies."

Han was accompanied by 14 other Korean mayors, as well as by the Executive Director of the Korea Local Government Center in New York Hunyul Jung and Assistant Director Jong Woo Roh.

Conference Executive Director Tom Cochran stated, "We appreciated the presence of the mayoral delegation from Korea and hope to continue working closely with the National Association of Korean Mayors in the future."
