Denver Mayor Wellington Webb welcomed mayors from across the nation and the world to the 71st Annual Conference of Mayors and 2nd International Conference of Mayors meeting in Denver. Webb said it was an honor and highlight to be able to host the meeting and showcase Denver to mayors from over 200 U. S. cities and 32 countries. The First Lady of Denver, Wilma Webb, who was instrumental in bringing the meeting to fruition, said, "On behalf of the citizens of Denver I would like to offer a hearty welcome." Mrs. Webb has also been an elected official having served for six terms in the Colorado state legislature.
