A new documentary film on Denver Mayor Wellington E Webb was premiered at the luncheon honoring the Mayor of Denver. Produced by the Conference of Mayors and called "Webb: The Man and His City" the film chronicles the life of Mayor Webb and his accomplishments for the city.

Hosted by Conference of Mayors Executive Director, J. Thomas Cochran, the film highlights the Mayor's rise in politics and showcases how his early childhood upbringing influenced his decisions as mayor. "Mayor Webb is a special Mayor and this is a special film about the man and his city," stated Tom Cochran in introducing the film at the luncheon honoring Mayor Webb where he was presented with the Conference's highest honor, the distinguished public service award.

Sections of the film dealt with the Mayors political life, and his accomplishments in the city in such areas as parks and recreation, downtown development, Denver International Airport and redevelopment of Stapleton, people programs, the creation of the Martin Luther King memorial, and the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library where a copy of the Webb film will be available for viewing.

"Webb: The Man and His City" was underwritten with assistance by Nationwide Retirement Solutions.
