New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was the primary speaker at the June 3 annual summer business meeting of the National Conference of Democratic Mayors (NCDM). Richardson commended the NCDM for its continued strong support of the national party, and provided encouraging remarks about Democrats’ potential in the upcoming elections.

NCDM President Trenton (NJ) Mayor Dougals Palmer welcomed newly elected Democratic mayors and congratulated those who were re-elected. Commenting on the growing influence of NCDM, he cited a number of meetings and events that he and many other members of the NCDM had been invited to participate in by the national party.
