The U.S. Conference of Mayors is proud to announce that America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) is the Title Sponsor for the Conference of Mayors 78th Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City June 11-15.

ANGA exists to promote demand for and supply of clean, abundant, affordable North American natural gas. Vast domestic supplies of natural gas will play a key role in fueling our country’s clean energy future—improving air quality in our cities, adding jobs to our economy and reducing our nation’s dependence on foreign oil.

North America produces 98 percent of the natural gas used in the United States. And, the natural gas community supports 2.8 million American jobs and $385 billion in annual economic activity. This made-in-America energy source is twice as clean as coal when used for electricity production, and it offers clean transportation solutions for large vehicle fleets, including city buses and other municipal vehicles.

“Natural gas has been one of America’s best kept secrets,” said ANGA President and CEO Regina Hopper. “ANGA’s job is to get this secret out. Our member companies are united in our commitment to being a constructive partner in advancing a clean energy future through greater use of clean, abundant and affordable natural gas.”

The 34-member trade association is taking its message to a wide range of energy stakeholders including electric power utilities, commercial enterprises, federal, state and local government and, most importantly, the American people who stand to reap the benefits of this clean, reliable, domestic energy resource.

Member companies represent North America’s largest independent natural gas companies, including the leading developers of the shale plays that are creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities and changing the U.S. clean energy landscape.
