Sustainable Metropolitan Infrastructure Survey Memo
May 11, 2009

TO: The Mayor
FROM: Tom Cochran, CEO and Executive Director
SUBJECT: Sustainable Metropolitan Infrastructure Survey
Due Date: May 15, 2009
DATE: April 27, 2009

I am seeking your participation in an important survey we are conducting on the issue of sustainable cities and metropolitan infrastructure.
Survey results will support The U.S. Conference of Mayors efforts on an enhanced sustainable metropolitan infrastructure investment agenda, including a larger share of federal resources for transportation, affordable housing, climate protection, energy consumption reduction, broadband deployment, drinking water, and wastewater treatment.
We have formatted the survey in a way that it can be answered quickly on-line. This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. In addition, please note that we will only be publishing aggregated information, not individual city responses. Survey results will be announced at the Conference’s 77th Annual Meeting in Providence.
Please complete the survey at http://usmayors.org/sustainableinfrastructuresurvey by close of business on Friday, May 15, 2009. Thank you for your help on this matter. If you have any questions, please contact Ron Thaniel (Transportation Policy: 202-861-6711 or rthaniel@usmayors.org) or Kevin McCarty (Climate Center: 202-861-6728 or kmccarty@usmayors.org) on my staff.
We want to acknowledge and thank Siemens and GlobeScan for sponsoring this Conference of Mayors survey effort.
