Conference President O’Neill Meets with President Bush

 On April 23, President George W. Bush hosted a private dinner meeting with several Southern California mayors and local officials.
Conference President Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill participated in the dinner along with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, Los Angeles County Commissioner Don Knabe, and Inglewood Mayor Roosevelt Dorn, President of the National Conference of Black Mayors.
Issues discussed included the Community Development Block Grant, immigration, energy, education reform, and crime and violence.
O’Neill also encouraged President Bush to participate in the upcoming 74th Annual Conference of Mayors in Las Vegas.
