Former DeKalb (IL) Mayor Sparrow Runs Successfully for Re-Election

Former DeKalb (IL) Mayor Greg Sparrow has been re-elected to the position he held from 1981 to 1997, in municipal elections held April 3. Mayor Sparrow is presently coordinator of Community Development for Kishwaukee College, a position he's held since last year.
During his first tenure as mayor, Sparrow was a trustee of the Conference of Mayors and an Advisory Board member. He also chaired a Nominations Committee and served on several Conference committees including transportation, urban economic, and international affairs as well as chairing a subcommittee on communications.
He also has been a President of the Illinois Municipal League and active in the Northern Illinois Mayors Association.
Sparrow began his new duties as mayor April 9th.
