April 27, 2009

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has made his bid for Governor official in an announcement on Tuesday, April 21 over the internet on Facebook and Twitter.

The mayor and Democratic candidate for Governor wrote on his iPhone, posting the message to Twitter, “It’s official- running for Gov of CA. Wanted you to be the first to know. Need your help.”

The Primary election for Governor of California takes place June 8, 2010 and it has been suggested that other potential candidates include former Oakland Mayor, former California Governor and current California Attorney General Jerry Brown along with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa.
