Rochester Mayor Johnson Wins 2004 Inner City 100 City Award

April 26, 2004

Rochester Mayor William A. Johnson accepted the ICIC 2004 Mayoral Inner City Leadership Award April 13 for his work to bring outside large'scale retail investment to the city's downtown area. Rochester was among the cities recognized for having the most companies on the 2004 Inner City 100 list of the fastest-growing inner-city companies in America. Rochester companies Execuscribe, Kaizen Direct, QED Technolgies, Rel Comm, and RES Exhibit Services were all on the list.

"The city of Rochester, New York is excited and honored that the number of Rochester companies recognized by the Inner City 100 continues to grow. The presence of outstanding and growing inner city businesses contributes tremendously to the current renaissance of Rochester," said Johnson at the awards luncheon.

"On behalf of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, I would like to congratulate Mayor Johnson for his hard work on behalf of the city of Rochester," said Conference President Hempstead (NY) Mayor James A. Garner.
