Senator Coleman Keeps Pressure Up on CDBG

Senator Norm Coleman (MN), who successfully led an effort to secure a 68-31 Senate vote in favor of full funding for the Community Development Block Grant and to keep it at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is continuing to push his colleagues to protect the program.

As the House and Senate continue to debate a final FY 2006 Budget Resolution — which was supposed to be completed on April 15 but was not — Senator Coleman and 16 of his Republican colleagues sent a letter to Senate Budget Committee Chairman Judd Gregg (NH) and Ranking Member Kent Conrad (ND) urging them to make sure any final conference report on the budget reflects the overwhelming support for CDBG expressed in the Senate.
