Conference of Mayors President Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth B. Kautz and Conference of Mayors CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran were invited by the International Franchise Association (IFA) to participate in their Small Business Lending Summit held April 7 in Washington (DC). The summit drew a hundred leaders from the Administration, Congress, federal agencies, banks and small businesses to discuss how lenders and franchising can accelerate the economic recovery. Under Kautz's leadership, the Conference of Mayors and IFA have jointly participated in a number of activities to learn how mayors can assist their local small businesses.
