Conference of Mayors Platinum Member Nationwide Retirement Solutions has dedicated representatives across the country ready to assist the over 330,000 public employees who benefit from this deferred compensation program in over 4,000 municipalities. However, over the course of the twenty'six year partnership, Nationwide has recognized the unique time constraints placed upon public employees and has tailored its educational offerings to meet the specific needs of public sector workers.
Nationwide representatives make themselves available for workshops at varying times and locations to meet city employees’ schedules. Furthermore, when employees cannot make workshops offered at the office, they can attend eWorkshops online at their convenience. Through utilizing the eWorkshops at www.nrsforu.com, plan participants learn from a series of exercises designed to teach about investing for the future. Participants may create Action Plans to help make retirement plans and identify goals. Nationwide offers a variety of eWorkshops, fitting into its educational mold of “Join it! Learn it! Live it!” Nationwide’s eWorkshops are led by an online instructor who guides participants through the various exercises.
The “Join it!” Workshop series is available to the general public. Current offereings include “Digging Up Dollars: How to Reduce Debt,” “Invest in Your Future with Deferred Compensation,” and “A Deferred Compensation Enrollment Workshop.”
In order to access workshops under “Learn it!” and “Live it!” participants must log into their accounts online. “Live it!” offerings include “Digging Up Dollars: How to Create a Spending Plan,” “Investment Option Basics,” “How to Use Asset Allocation,” “How to Manage Your Investment Risk,” and “How to Close Your Retirement Gap.” Two workshops are offered under the “Live it!” series including “Approaching Retirement: How to Make an Informed Distribution Decision, Part A” and “Approaching Retirement: How to Make an Informed Distribution Decision, Part B.”
