Conference of Mayors Past President Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. addresses The American Architectural Foundation annual Accent on Architecture Gala on February 4. During the Gala, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley was honored with the first Joseph P. Riley Jr. Award for Leadership in Urban Design. The new award named for Charleston Mayor Riley co'sponsored by USCM and The American Architectural Foundation (AAF). USCM CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran, Riley, and AAF President and CEO Ronald E. Bogle were on hand to present the award. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions in Chicago, Daley could not be present to accept the award. Award will be presented to Daley during the National Mayors Summit on City Design being held April 27-29 in Chicago.
