Under the leadership of Charlotte Mayor Patrick McCrory, the Republican Mayors and Local Officials (RMLO) met on January 26. Joining the mayors were Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Roy Bernardi, White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Ruben Barrales, Conference President Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill, and Wade Lairsen, Director of State and Local Government Affairs for the Republican National Committee.

The mayors were briefed on key themes to be covered in President Bush’s State of the Union Address, the relief effort at HUD related to the recent hurricanes, and other key Administration initiatives.
