Speaking to mayors and guests at the 73rd Annual Winter Meeting SentryPoints Chairman Paul Helmke, former Mayor of Fort Wayne and a past President of the Conference of Mayors, presented several resources available to cities through command and control software that is designed to quickly assess, monitor and control unforeseen circumstances; communicating effectively with local fire, rescue and police personnel throughout a metropolitan area. Mayors from across the country face continued challenges as to how to best protect and provide for their city from a potentially threatening situation. This software provides a real-time picture of events as they unfold, allowing city, local and federal officials to share critical information and resources. This allows cities to better manage daily public safety operations and other needed security procedures.
"As a former mayor, I know there are limited resources when it comes to managing an urgent situation, whether it is a large'scale event, flood, fire, oil spill, snowstorm or terrorist attack. This technology is designed to help mayors and their emergency management personnel deal with the everyday management of their city, as well as provide the city with the tools necessary to accurately manage a crisis situation," said Helmke.
Sentry Points begins working with cities by engaging in a threat and vulnerability assessment. From there, SentryPoints can arrange for an on'site system demonstration of its command and control software, as well as a limited operational test area within a city. Throughout the process, from demonstration to full implementation and integration of the system, SentryPoints provides ongoing training and support.
